Ch. 2 - Legends are made when you're Jack of Fables

[Right now he's got his feet kicked up on a stack of all the various books he could find where he was in them. Collections of fairy tales, fables, and more colorful adaptions - all of them. The other day he raided the library and took all of them home. If people want to go off and read about him, they'll have to talk to the real thing first. After having spoken to some other people about their worlds and sharing his own identity when convenient, Jack has come to some conclusions about Luceti. Ones that requires a little more looking into.]

[Voice]

You people have legends in your world, right? Any of them true? Any of you ever met them? Or hell, maybe some of you are the legendary type too.

I'm one of the latter. I'm Jack of the Tales - at least, all the good ones. Any of you [losers] people heard of me?

Oh right, one more thing. Someone mind telling me how those filters work? Seems like it could be handy.

[Later, for anyone who wants to bother him in person, he'll be hanging out at the shops, wishing he had money to spend on all of it (even though it's all free). Luceti is a poor place to be for a man obsessed with wealth.]
folklorist: (Peaceful: You wanted to talk?)

[ Oh right. Well then he's definately heard of you. ]

Yes that's correct! Romania to be more specific.
folklorist: (Never seen anything like it)

Oh! Oh I was thinking that, honestly. [ Just a sheepish laugh. ] But does that mean you have memories of being all of them then? [ Waait, wait for it. ] That's fascinating!

I've met several or your, ah personas. Jack Frost and Jack of the Lantern.
folklorist: (Oh hello there)

I've never heard of anything like that before. Then again each world has it quirks.

[ Yeah pretty much. That's Helios for you though, derp. ]

Ah--I'm a but simple headmaster! Helios Sprensonne, it's a pleasure to meet you.

Hogwarts? [ Just a laugh. He'd be waving you off if they were in person but a laugh will have to do. ] Heavens no. It's just a normal school designed for all races, human and mythologies alike. Anyone and anything is welcome there.

M-Money? Ah--well. Most of it is donations. But there is tuition and room and board to be paid as well. But that's rather standard of most boarding schools.

[ Yeah he's being modest with that. Sprensonne Academy is really well off. He just wasn't expecting that sort of question. No one really asks about the income of the school it's a pleasant surprise. ]

Oh, well, you know parents always want the best for their children. I can't say I mind really. The more help the better.
folklorist: (Ever so curious)

Mm decent I suppose? I-I mean Headmasters are generally higher paid than most other positions, but I really don't need that much! Living in the school and all. Sprensonne is privately owned as well so...that definately helps with the salaries.
folklorist: (I'm just your average headmaster yep)

It's a rather good thing I'm not in it for the money then! But without hardworking individuals everything would be so much harder to learn. Money isn't everything either!

[ A pause. ] Before? My, I'm not even sure. Teaching has been everything since I finished my own education.
folklorist: (Well this is certainly a mess)

Ah--well no. It was more complicated than that. [ But that's something he doesn't want to talk about. Fail miserably hits home rather hard, but not in the educational sense. ] Teaching came from my world being so divided. Mythologies and humans coexisting it's a rather foreign concept to them I'm afraid.
folklorist: (Oh hello there)

I wish that weren't right, but I'm beginning to suspect as much. I'm not going to give up though. A world where myths and humans can live together out in the open is possible. [ He sounds firm in his response. ]

But you know...here it's actually rather different. Luceti, despite having cultures and people that contrast one another...it's all very uniform and accepting. [ A sigh. ]

Oh but even if you took away the Malnosso, and all that war business, I still think people would remain as they are now. It might be one thing that ties us all together, true, but I think more than just a common foe has shaped the people here.

[ A sigh. ] Yes I suppose that's true. But I don't think people would throw away all the connections and relationships they've made in this place just because there is a harder lifestyle.

[ He remembers the Earthquake and everything that happened. He goes silent for a few brief moments before continuing. ] Ah--something similar did happen. And that was hardly the outcome. Granted it was a full scale disaster, but people worked together more than attempted to kill one another. Still people do change, and it's entirely possible that could happen. But I don't like to look on such negative views!
