[Right now he's got his feet kicked up on a stack of all the various books he could find where he was in them. Collections of fairy tales, fables, and more colorful adaptions - all of them. The other day he raided the library and took all of them home. If people want to go off and read about him, they'll have to talk to the real thing first. After having spoken to some other people about their worlds and sharing his own identity when convenient, Jack has come to some conclusions about Luceti. Ones that requires a little more looking into.]

You people have legends in your world, right? Any of them true? Any of you ever met them? Or hell, maybe some of you are the legendary type too.

I'm one of the latter. I'm Jack of the Tales - at least, all the good ones. Any of you [losers] people heard of me?

Oh right, one more thing. Someone mind telling me how those filters work? Seems like it could be handy.

[Later, for anyone who wants to bother him in person, he'll be hanging out at the shops, wishing he had money to spend on all of it (even though it's all free). Luceti is a poor place to be for a man obsessed with wealth.]

[ buffy is going on an expedition tonight and expeditions need supplies -- especially because she can probably count on jack sparrow to have none of the things two young women need in a dream vacation spot. things like conditioner or lip balm or spare pillows.

but someone is blocking her route to the pillows. huff. so, with a hand on one hip: ] 'Scuse me. I kinda need to get by.

[Oh, he recognizes that voice. He shifts to the side, resting his arm on a shelf. ~~One sadly out of reach for you Buffy.~~ He doesn't quite move out of the way.]

quick! clarify! ] Right behind you, I mean. Those pillows. I need one. Or, uhm, some. Some is better than one. They -- look, could you just pass me one? Some.

[Oh, this is another Jack? Well then...]

Are we already having pillow talk? [He reaches back and grabs one and then another.] I usually don't move this fast.

Cool it, Mister Hormones. [ now her other hand is on her hip too. she means business. ] These pillows aren't about you or your speed.

You've had.......I like the WENCHES, mate. And Sparrow's the only Sparrow, and isn't an imitation neither!

Of course they aren't. [He holds them out for her to take.] But for the record, I have perfect control of my speed.

Don't beat yourself up, kid. I've had a lot of people named after me. You're definitely not the worst of them.

[ she reaches to grab the first. ]

Gee, like I haven't heard that line before. [ actually she hasn't. but she's not letting her taken-abackness be seen. ]

So when you say "tales," mate, you mean........beanstalks.

[Fortunately for you, Buffy, he's done with the flirting.]

So what's the rush? And why pillows?

Of course all them are true! It's just that most people don't tend to believe in them. [ A light chuckle before clearing his throat. ] Ah, but I believe it depends on the world really. Jack of Tales is it? I'm afraid I haven't heard of you though.

[ Doesn't ring any bells to him, at least not at the moment. There are a lot of tales with Jack out there. ]

Eating no fat? Building crooked houses? Nimbleness?

[All of those tales are about him!]

Really? You're from Earth, right? Europe, America, all those good places?

Don't do fatties, that story doesn't even mention Jack, and I'm very nimble.

My birthday. [ she confirms with a smile that shows more rue than excitement. ] And it was a pretty small list. Two, if you count me. [ and she's not counting sparrow. ]

Think Giant Slayer. Jack Frost. That kind of thing.

So the other would be Dawn, right? Sweet kid.

[ her face hardens. ]

Oh, that's the last thing I need. Please tell me her rejection was even more forceful than mine.
